Coal Handling Plants (CHP) represent the vital fuel supply lifeline of thermal power generation facilities. Unplanned conveyor trippings or motor control failures halt coal feeding, directly threatening power generation. At Jaypee Bina Thermal Power Plant in Bina, MP, DEC executed a comprehensive electrical modification and modernization package for the plant's high-capacity Coal Handling Plant.

The project involved upgrading existing 11kV/3.3kV drive switchgear, supplying Trisquare heavy-duty Motor Control Centres for crushers and conveyor drives, installing dust-proof IP65 distribution boards, and replacing main cable runs with POLYVION FRLS armoured cables.
