Steel pipe manufacturing requires high-capacity electrical substations to handle severe inductive loads, heavy welding currents, and frequent motor start-stop cycles. At Jindal SAW Ltd's major manufacturing facility in Samaghoga, Kutch, Gujarat, DEC engineered and constructed the complete 66/11kV high-voltage receiving substation and plant primary power distribution network.
The project covered 66kV outdoor AIS switchyard erection, 66/11kV step-down power transformers, Trisquare heavy-duty 11kV vacuum switchgear, custom Motor Control Centres for pipe rolling and seam welding mills, and heavy POLYVION XLPE armoured cables.
